In this video, I show how I transformed the LEGO Town Hall (10224) into a LEGO Police Station.

LEGO has yet to produce a modular police station even though they have released several police stations in the City theme. However, most of those sets look very modern, so do not fit my town and they are also models that are completely open at the back.

The “Town Hall” is an impressive tall building but the interior and function did not fit in the concept of my brick city, so I decided to change it into a police station, even though there is a town office that handles administrative work such as the rental of beach houses, registration of marriages (Brick Beach is a popular wedding destination) and paying of fines etc.

The exterior of the building was modified by pushing out the two main white pillars to the front of the base plate. This allows the main doors of the LEGO Police Station to be opened fully, unlike in the original design. I remodelled all the floors and made significant changes to the interior.

The first office to the right of the ground floor main entrance is the town office manned by two town employees. The lower ground level features the main public police floor with reception, desk sergeant and holding cell. There is a separate reception at the lift lobby that guards access to the upper floors. The security phone on the wall is a direct line to the police chief and swat team.

The second floor of the LEGO Police Station is the detectives’ office, interrogation room and police chief’s office. There is also a coffee machine and filing cabinet.

The third floor of the LEGO Police Station is the SWAT team operations which includes a command centre and armoury. The command centre houses a briefing room and tech support department who monitors communications and cameras set up throughout the city.

The reason there is such a well-equipped SWAT team is due to the amount of money in the bank across the road and high net-worth individuals who visit the town. Unfortunately, the town does attract criminal elements that attempt robberies and kidnappings.
